A graveside service for Nicholas Katko, 84 of Vacaville, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif.
Nicholas, affectionately known as "Mickey", passed away peacefully on the evening of Feb. 22, at his residence. He was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on Feb. 6, 1930 to Stephen and Julia Katko.
Nicholas graduated from Perth Amboy High School in 1948. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict
. He later married his wife, Roslyn and they settled in Sayreville, New Jersey before they eventually relocated to Vacaville in 1983. He worked for Chevron until his retirement in 1995.
Nicholas was a loving and devoted husband and father and a good friend to many. He will always be loved and remembered.
Nicholas is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Roslyn of Vacaville; sons, Nicholas Katko (Deanna) of Kentucky and David Katko of Georgia; grandchildren, Ritchie (Molly) and Justin; brother, Steve Katko of New Jersey; sister, Theresa of New Jersey; He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, CA 94589.
