Vera Faye Fountain

Vera Faye Fountain was born in Poteau, OK., May 21, 1924 and passed away Dec. 17, in Sacramento, CA. She had a sister and two brothers who are all deceased. Growing up during the depression and the Dust Bowl era the family was struggling. About 1935 this prompted the move West. First to Arizona and then to California. Her father, Samuel, would take any jobs available, but most of his employment was working in cotton and row crop vegetables. Although the family was very poor their mother and father always put family first instilling the value of hard work. Boyd and Vera married in 1944. In 1945 Boyd purchased the International Harester Dealership from Joe Azavedo. In 1969 the dealership was sold and the current business, Solex, was formed. At that time Vera went from being a home maker to assisting with bookkeeping with her emphasis on collections.
Vera is survived by her son, David Fountain (Lauri), Carrie Davis (Dwayne), Chad Fountain (Barbara), Nicole Long (Jefferey); her other son, Darryl Fountain (Treva), Belinda Mistler (Clint), James Fountain and Jeff Fountain; great grandchildren, Gillian, Hayden and Myles Davis, Ian Fountain, Claire and Daphne Long, Brianna, Billy and Macy Mistler, Austin and George Fountain, Kayla and Kirstyn Fountain.
Graveside services will be private and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, 525 West H St., Dixon, CA 95620.
