Clay Eugene Routh, 56, of Vacaville, was born on Aug. 10, 1954.
He was the youngest son of Andrew and Jennie Routh, of Porterville, Calif. He entered heaven on Sept. 4. Clay was a proud Army veteran and served at Fort Ord, Calif., and Stuttgart, Germany.
For 25 years, Clay took pride being a masonry contractor and the beauty of his masonry projects will remain in the Vacaville-Northern California area for many years to come. He will be remembered as a hardworking, kind and giving man with a lot of personality. Clay loved to scuba dive, and would dive anywhere especially in the warm waters of the Cayman Islands. He was also an avid San Diego Chargers fan.
Clay is survived by his son, Jason Routh of Vacaville, Calif.; daughter, Katrina Routh of Vacaville, Calif., and former wife of 30 years, Anita Routh of Vacaville, Calif. He is also leaving behind one brother, Jim Routh of Arizona; two sisters, Paula Morris of San Diego, Calif., and Wilma Gorman of Bakersfield, Calif.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel. A funeral-graveside service will be held on Monday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel, 448-6546, www.mccunechapel.com.

My Uncle Clay lived his life to the fullest, he lived his dreams. If he wanted to experience something like scuba diving, which he loved to do, he made it happen. He had a cheerful positive outlook on life and was always willing to help, he took the time to teach me how to understand my math problem with a stick and some dirt outside one day when no one else could seem to help me get it. Thanks uncle Clay for all the memories. Until we meet again someday in heaven.
