The Guest Book is expired.
Ricky Shaddox, 48, of Vacaville, passed away at home Dec. 13. Born in Dallas, Texas, June 1, 1964, Ricky proudly served as a police officer for nearly 20 years, the majority of time with The San Francisco Police Department. Before that, he served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman on the Presidio, where he first met Rowena, his wife of 27 years.
He loved being a policeman, working as a school resource officer and doing undercover work to protect the Muni riders. Police work is what he lived for, helping other people solve their problems.
He loved his girls with all his heart, both cheerleaders, and enjoyed cheering loudly at all their games.
The family holds close the wonderful memories of countless Disneyland trips, Folsom Lake, the big road trip, going to the movies and mostly just being together.
Those close to Rick know how passionate he was about the Dallas Cowboys, often having close friends over to watch the games and hear his "enthusiastic" cheering.
He is survived by his wife, Rowena; his daughter, Sabrina Shaddox both of Vacaville; his daughter and son-in-law, Alexandra and Ryan Waldrop of Roseville; father and mother-in-law, Romulo and Victoria Lugtu of Vacaville; sister, Stephanie Young of Kauffman, Texas; preceded in passing by parents, Marvin and Hope Shaddox of Kauffman, Texas. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Wyatt.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12noon Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Holy Spirit Church, 1050 N. Texas St., Fairfield. Ricky will be laid to rest, at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon. Arrangements entrusted to Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Friends are invited to share condolences with the family at www.bryanbraker.com.
