Abelardo Cavazos Obituary
Feb. 24, 1929 - Feb. 16, 2018 Abelardo Cavazos passed in peace Friday, Feb. 16, at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born Feb. 24, 1929 to the late Tomas and Lupe Cavazos. He was married to the late Jennie Cavazos for 64 years. He served as a Sgt. in the United States Army from 1949-1953, and employed at the Travis AFB for 30 years as a Civil Service Employee. Abe was involved in many things, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, Italian Catholic Federation and as a Head Usher at St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, coaching Little League and music. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Abe is survived by his daughters, Cynthia, Sylvia (Joe) and Sophie; sons, Mike (Donna) and Sam (Sue); 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Carmen, Josie (Jess), Sally (Joe), and brother, David. Abe was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Michelle; son, Tomas; brother, Edwardo, and sister, Janie. Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville, March 1, at 10 a.m., with reception to follow in the Parrish Hall. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.
