Harold Norman Hague, "Norm", passed away at the age of 81 on Monday, Feb. 24, surrounded by his family, at his home in Vacaville.
Norm was born June 11, 1932 in Suisun, California to William Harold Hague and Vera Stella (Ghiorzo) Hays. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois Louise (Lee) Hague of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dan Stowers of Vacaville; daughter, Cathie Fitzwater of Sacramento; son, Thomas Hague of Pollock Pines, and daughter and son-in-law Dana and Richard Clements of West Sacramento. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his only sister, Evelyn Regan.
Norm served in the
for two years during the
. From 1951 to 1978 he worked as a station manager for Chevron, (formerly Standard Oil), in Fairfield. After retiring from Chevron, he worked 16 years for Pacific Hardware in Vacaville, a place where he made many friends, and which quickly became a home away from home.
When not working, Norm enjoyed gardening at his home and he could usually be found spending time in his backyard. Norm also enjoyed spending time at the family owned cabin in Kyburz, California, where he spent time relaxing and loved fishing along the American River. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
While his children were young, Norm attended St. Paul's Methodist Church, where he taught sixth grade Sunday School. He belonged to the Chevron Retiree's Association for many years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, friend and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, located at 1850 West Texas St. in Fairfield. Following the service, there will be a brief graveside ceremony located at Rockville Cemetery. All who knew him are welcome to attend.
