Herman Vogel, a long time Vacaville resident passed away on Jan. 18. He was blessed with a very generous heart and was loved very deeply by his family and friends. He was born in 1928 in Philadelphia, PA. He served his country in the US Airforce in Germany, where he was stationed for three years. Upon his return he met the love of his life Carolyn and soon married in 1953 moving then to Vacaville. After leaving the Airforce he went to work for Civil Service where he remained until his retirement. Herman enjoyed the outdoors and loved to travel the country, camp, fish and ride his trailbike. He was a great carpenter and loved working with his hands. He most cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn. He leaves behind his daughters, Diane Smith, Lynn Burke, Matt Burke (son in law); his grandchildren, Whitney and Tyler Burke, as well as special niece, Nancy McGee. He was a true friend to all who knew him. He will be so greatly missed by all who shared his life. "Adios Dad" you are forever loved! A private memorial will take place at a later date.
