Leroy James Williams Obituary
Nov. 30, 1937 - Feb. 16, 2018 Vacaville Leroy James Williams, 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, Feb. 16. Leroy was born on Nov. 30, 1937 to Fred Leroy Williams and Ethel May O'Hara in Santa Cruz, and raised by William Prescott in Ben Lomond, CA. He attended Boulder Creek high school, followed by a tour in the U.S. Navy. Leroy always enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and evening stars while on the open waters as the ship cruised to its next port in the Pacific. Following his service in the Navy, he found work as a Construction Laborer. After a few years learning construction he became a Union Carpenter, where he spent the next 35 years perfecting his craft as a residential home builder. After his retirement from the Carpenters Union, Leroy found a new challenge in life, beginning a new career and later retiring from American Home Foods in Vacaville. Leroy will be remembered for his passion for cars, being with his friends and family, and visiting the casinos, but most of all for his love for his dog, Jenna. He was loved by many and will truly be missed. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Susana Williams of Vacaville; step-son and daughter-in-law, Hans and Lori Williams of Dublin; son-in-law, Greg Bradley; treasured grandchildren, Loren Williams Jr., Eric Williams, Briana Williams, Tara Bradley, and great grand child, Cali. Many more family members and his faithful canine, Jenna. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vivian Jeanette Williams; his daughter, Laurie Helen Bradley, and his beloved canine, Bear. Graveside services will be held at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery, 522 Elmira Road in Vacaville on March 2, at 1 p.m. Immediately following the service a celebration of life will be held at 425 Andrea Drive in Vacaville. All family and friends are welcome. Arrangements by Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home.
