A funeral service for Michael Ray Gardner Jr. will be Sunday, March 2, at 3 p.m., at Vaca Hills Chapel, 524 Elmira Rd., in Vacaville. Prior to the service a viewing will begin at 1 p.m. He will be laid to rest at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Mikey ended his battle with cancer on Feb. 14. He was greeted into heaven with open arms by his darling little daughter, Gabriel Amanda Gardner. Mikey was born in Indio, Calif., and grew up in Vacaville. His journey in life was short but accomplished much in his difficult fight to make all things right. He was greatly loved and will be missed by so many.
Mikey is survived by his soulmate, Rachel Gardner; six beautiful children, Micheala, Crystal, Michael, Samantha, Cherri, and Lexie; seven grandchildren; brother, Jesse; sisters, Gigi and Gina; also survived by his loving mother, Vera Gardner and his caring father, Michael Gardner.

Although we had grown apart over the years, I often looked back at our shenanigans with a smile. Rest in peace old friend. My sincere condolences to your family and friends.
