Robert Lee Marcum, 80, passed away peacefully after a brief illness.
He was born in Gardendale, Ala., and was the youngest of 10 children. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, graduated Armstrong College, Berkeley, in 1958, and moved to Vacaville with his family in 1979.
He retired in 1999 from Universal Building Services Supply Company as an accountant.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, of 50 years; his sons, Roger L. Marcum (wife Dana) Fairfield, Calif., and Stuart K. Marcum (wife Kathleen) Daly City, Calif.; his grandson, Ryan L. Marcum; several nieces and nephews in Alabama; and his beloved dog, Maggie.
He loved the ocean and enjoyed going to Bodega Bay (Schoolhouse Beach), painting and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his quick wit and easy going personality.
At his request, there will be no services.
