Robert Larner Obituary

May 27, 1928 - Oct. 19, 2010

Robert Walter Larner of Dixon passed away in Vacaville on Oct. 19, after a short illness.

He was born on May 27, 1928, to Richard Benedict and Leah Larner, who predeceased him.

Bob was educated at the School of the Madeleine and Saint Mary's High School in Berkeley, and the College of Marin where he met the love of his life, his future wife, Carolyn Anselmo.

Bob and Carolyn were married for 58 years and had two children, Matthew Bernard and Raymond James. Carolyn and Matthew predeceased Bob.

Bob served in the United States Marine Corps. during World War II and Korea.

Pabco Products in Emeryville was Bob's first employer. He also spent time working for Bay Freight Lines before he and Carolyn took over the family business, Vacaville Sanitary Service.

Bob's brother Richard predeceased him.

Bob leaves his son, Raymond Larner; and three sisters, Leah Hawkley, Nickie Martin and Sister Barbara Larner; a sister-in-law, Ruby Kay Larner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First St., Dixon. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (Midway Road), Dixon.

Donations in Bob's memory may be made to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, CA 95616. Arrangements are by Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 678-2189, www.miltoncarpenter.com.
