July 20, 1932 - March 21, 2014

It is with much sadness but with a great deal of love and respect that we announce the passing of Vivian Ann Cunningham, 81, on Friday, March 21st after a brave battle with cancer.

To know Vivian meant you were deeply affected by the selfless person she was each and every day of her life.

Vivian was born on July 20, 1932 in Oakland, California and attended Heald Business College before moving to Vallejo in 1960 to marry her soulmate. She began her working career in the main library at UC Berkeley and later became the secretary to the instructors at the Vallejo Maritime Academy. Vivian then began the most important and rewarding job of her life, raising her two sons. After many years home with her family, she worked as a secretary for the Vallejo Police Department for 20 years and, after her official retirement, had the pleasure of working alongside her son as the Office Manager at his business for 14 years.

Although she loved cappuccinos, Hawaiian sunsets and watching any sport her grandchildren were participating in, the thing that brought her the most joy in her life was her family. She cherished Sunday night family dinners at the home she and Louis shared their entire married life, and loved hearing about all her grandchildrens' weekly activities, stories and accomplishments.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Louis; son Shawn (Nancy) of Vacaville; Paul (Diane) of Benicia; as well as Kelly, Ashley, Scott and Erin Cunningham, her four adored grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, March 26 at Twin Chapels Mortuary with a rosary beginning at 7pm. A funeral mass will take place at 11am on Thursday, March 27 at All Souls Cemetery in Vallejo in the Chapel.
