Mary 'Molly' Boersma was granted her angel wings on Feb. 14. Her final days were spent with family, friends and caretakers. Despite her illness with Alzheimer's, Molly maintained a bright and cheerful spirit and brought happiness and smiles to everyone she encountered.
A memorial service for Molly will be held on Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield, Calif., with a small reception to follow at the funeral home. Pastor Gary McCusker will officiate at the service. Internment will be in Fairmont Memorial Park at a later date.
Born on Nov. 7, 1929, in the District of Lugar, Scotland, to Matthew and Annie Donnelly, she was the youngest of four. After a short courtship with her soon to be husband, she moved to the United States where she married James Boersma on May 13, 1952.
She became a U.S. citizen on Feb. 19, 1960. They moved to Fairfield in 1964, where they resided most of their lives.
She worked for many years at the Sears Catalog Store in Fairfield and then 10 years at Emporium Capwells before retiring. Her family wrote, 'She loved shopping, going out to eat and spending time with family and friends. She was a 'bubbly' person and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and caretakers.'
Her husband, James, and her three older brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carol, Donna and Debbie; grandson, Derek Biasi; and son-in-law James Hughes.
