A Mass of Resurrection for Barbara J. Sharpless will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 1, 10:30 a.m., in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Vacaville. Mrs. Sharpless passed away peacefully on Oct. 26. Barbara was born and raised in Sacramento. She was the daughter of Wanda and Edward R. Smith, who owned Dick and Eddie's Restaurant in Sacramento. In her working years, she was a Service Representative for the Telephone Company and Shell Oil. Barbara was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was active in their Food Locker and many other charity programs. As the wife of an Air Force officer, she traveled extensively with her family. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Leslie H. Sharpless; son, Michael E. (Wendy) Sharpless of Temecula; daughters, Janet T. (Paul) Ferrian of Windham, Maine, and Susan Sharpless Hubbard (John Peterson) of Berkeley; and eight grandchildren, Joe, Meggie, Sarah, Sophie, Thomas, Katie, Kellie and Isabel. Friends are invited for visitation and rosary on Wednesday evening, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the Chapel of the Nadeau Family Funeral Home in Vacaville. Interment will be private in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Arrangements entrusted to the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 707-455-7700.
