Lisa Greenfield departed this life on May 15, following a long illness. Lisa was a resident of Sonoma County for 30 years and expressed her love for her community through her employment as well as community involvement. She was an early childhood teacher for the Multi-Cultural Center and served on the Multi-Cultural Board for 15 years. Lisa was instrumental in raising funding that supported the program's new building during those years. During her employment by the Extended Child Care Program over the next seven years, her friends and colleagues remember her as a creative and loving teacher of young children in her charge.
Her final employment was with the Council on Aging, where she used her skills as a Paralegal to help the elderly obtain appropriate funding and care at home. She maintained this employment for approximately 11 years, until her illness required her retirement from employment. Leaving this employment did not deter her from continuing to help former clients, new and old friends with legal advice. Lisa had a passion for helping people and touched many lives throughout her life.
She attended California Baptist College, Sonoma State University and Solano Community College.
She is survived by her sister, brothers, numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her friends, who she viewed as an extended family.
A Buddhist Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, at the Redwood Coast Buddhist Center, 2455 Bennett Valley Road, Waterfall Towers, Suite A100, Santa Rosa. The Ceremony will commence at 1 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral and Cremation Services, 707-525-3730.
