JoAnn Coffman, 77, of Benicia, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, in a local hospital after a short illness. She was born in Lincoln, Neb., lived in Novato for more than 25 years and moved to Benicia in 1987. She worked for many years as a secretary for Commerce Clearing House.
JoAnn and her husband are longtime members of St. Dominic's Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William M. Coffman Sr., of Benicia; daughter, Cathy (Larry) Bienati of Benicia; son, William M. (Diane) Coffman Jr. of Vallejo; sisters, Claudette Brown of Vacaville and Paulette McElroy of Seattle; grandchildren, Christina, Amanda and Angelina Bienati and Alexandra, Nicholas, James and Ryan Coffman.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Coffman in 1968.
A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West Second St., Benicia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Dominic's Church, 475 East I St., Benicia. Burial will follow in St. Dominic's Cemetery. Visitation will be at the mortuary after noon Tuesday.
Family prefers donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
