As I reflect on my interactions with Uncle Jim and Aunt Irene, I have warm and wonderful memories of them as individuals and as a couple. As an only child I had the blessing of spending regular Saturday dinner outings with Uncle Jim and Aunt Irene. I enjoyed our times together for many reasons. Uncle Jim always made our trip to the destination interesting because our route of travel to and from the location was always different because of his vast knowledge of roads and highways due to his vocation. Uncle liked to be funny, but what was even more endearing was the way Aunt Irene enjoyed his jokes even if she had heard it previously. I also enjoyed listening to Uncle Jim play his guitar and sing.
As an adult I realize what wondeful examples of Christian character both Uncle Jim and Aunt Irene were. Their marriage was a precious and beautiful example of Christian marriage.
Uncle Jim will be missed greatly. I rejoice knowing that he is walking the streets of gold with his Lord and Savior and with Irene.
With much sympathy,
Michelle Guistwite (great niece)
