STEWARD Y. BARNDT Steward Y. Barndt, 94, of Telford, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. A devoted husband, he and his loving wife Edna M. (Leister) Barndt would have celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary in October. Born in Argus, he was a son of the late John B. and Flora (Yerk) Barndt. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served his country proudly in WWII as a crew member on the USS Montpelier and was honorably discharged. Mr. Barndt was employed as a machine operator at the U.S. Gauge - Ametek Division in Sellersville for many years prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley. Steward was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and was a wonderful friend to all who knew him. He was also a member of the Souderton-Harleysville Fish and Game Club where he spent many happy hours In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard Barndt and his wife Francine (Cerminaro) of Highland Park, NJ, a loving granddaughter, Amanda (Barndt) Rodriguez and her husband Raul of Highland Park, NJ, a cherished great grandson, Dylan Rodriguez, two brothers: Claude and Marvin Barndt, and three sisters: Gladys Long, Grace Grater, and Edna Rosenberger. He was preceded in death by eight siblings. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 12:00 PM in St. John's Lutheran Church, 910 Allentown Road, (Ridge Valley) Sellersville, PA 18960. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. John's Lutheran Church at the above address. Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford. Read Obituary
