Cash, Raymond E.* - Lansdale  
Raymond E. Cash of Lansdale Raymond E. Cash, 87, of the Peter Becker Community, Harleysville, and a lifelong resident of Lansdale, passed away peacefully June 29, 2015. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Bracken) Cash who died September 23, 2007. Ray, better known as “Hunk”, was born November 30, 1927, in Lansdale, and was the son of the late Floyd T. and Rachael (Miller) Cash. Hunk graduated from Lansdale High School in 1945. As a young man growing up in Lansdale, he played baseball for the Chestnut Street Tigers, a team started by his brother, Tom, and later coached by his father, Floyd. The team was later named the Lansdale Tigers and played in now what is called the Perky League. His passion for baseball continued as one of the founders of the Lansdale Little League and coach of the State Champion Lansdale Knee Hi team. He worked his way up to production foreman at The North Penn Reporter where he was employed for forty years. Hunk was one of the owners and manager of Bayview Cottages in North Truro, MA where he spent many enjoyable summers with his wife, Helen. In recent years, Hunk was active as a volunteer and usher for the church at Peter Becker Community. He always appreciated attending the various chapel services held at Peter Becker Community. Survivors include two daughters: Dorothy L. Bunting (Peter), of Telford, and Rebecca R. Robinson (Bob), of Middletown, DE; two sisters: Laura Ann Kehler, of Kulpsville, and Pauline Schaffer, of Telford; four granddaughters, and eight great grandchildren. He is predeceased by four siblings; Floyd, Tom, Bob and Bernetta. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave., Harleysville, PA 19438. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his name to the Benevolent Fund of Peter Becker Community, address above, and make checks payable to “PBC”. Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, is handling arrangements.

Christy Sr., David Earl* - Lansdale  
David Earl Christy Sr. of Lansdale David Earl Christy, Sr., 88, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 28, 2015, at the home of his companion of ten years, Nora Copertino. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Mary (Butler) Christy who passed away on June 23, 2003. Born in Lansdale on April 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Alvin C. and Sadie A. (Snyder) Christy. He was a 1945 graduate of Lansdale High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1996 he had been employed by the Hunter Spring Company of Hatfield, John Evans & Son Spring Company, Spring Tech, and the Indian Crest Middle School. In his spare time he enjoyed baseball, basketball, football, bowling, golf, and spending time with his family. David is survived by his children, Debbie Sharp (Al), Diane Rodgers (Jimmy), Donna Nalepa (Steve), and David E. Christy, Jr. (Pat), his sister, Edna Slemmer, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and his companion, Nora Copertino. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Christy. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, July 2, 2015, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 69 W. Broad Street, Souderton, PA 18964 where his Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Immanuel Leidy’s Church Cemetery in Souderton, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David’s name can be made to Ascend Hospice, 501 Office Center Drive, Suite #285, Fort Washington, PA 19034, which would be deeply appreciated by his family. Collins, Mary J.* - Formerly Of North Wales  
Mary J. Collins, formerly of North Wales Mary J. Collins, age 88, formerly of North Wales, died on June 30, 2015 at the Regina Nursing Center in Norristown. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah Nee Clark. She was a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy High School. Mrs. Collins has been a resident at the Regina Nursing Center since 2007 and was formerly from Ambler and North Wales. She worked as a secretary for Conrail at the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, retiring in 1998. She had been a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was very proud of her Irish heritage. Surviving are her 4 children Stephen J. Collins and his wife Anne of Chicago, Marybeth DiVincenzo and her husband Gary of Chester Springs, Sheilah Collins and her spouse Mary Zimmerman of Pylesville, MD and Paul F. Collins and his wife Karen of Montgomeryville; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Frank Clark and his wife Noreen of Ambler and a sister Eileen Mason of Wildwood. She was preceded in death by her brother John J. Clark. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 7th at 10AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA. 19446. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday evening from 7 to 9PM and also on Tuesday morning from 8:30 to 9:30AM at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main Street, Lansdale, PA. 19446. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary’s name to the Regina Nursing Center, 550 E. Fornance Street, Norristown, PA. 19401 would be preferred.
