McDonald, Gerald J.* - Lansdale  
Gerald J. McDonald passed away at Elm Terrace Gardens on January 23rd, at the age of 90, one day short of his 91st birthday. He and his wife of 63 years Mary (Zaner) McDonald have been residents of Lansdale Borough for 47 years. Born in Roscommon County Ireland, he and his family emigrated to Schenectady, New York, at the age 4. After graduating from Mount Pleasant High School, he served in the Naval Pacific Fleet in World War II, as an aerographer's mate. Upon discharge from the Navy, he graduated from Syracuse University with a Business degree. Formally residents of Syracuse, they relocated to Lansdale in 1967, where he worked for IMS International of Ambler, and then Plymouth Meeting, Pa. He is survived by wife, Mary, daughters, Kathleen Jones (Wesley) of Muscatine, Iowa, Susan Pitkow (Michael) of Hatfield, Pa., Molly Mills (Richard) of Burbank, Ca., and a son, Dr. John McDonald (Barbara) of Ivyland, Pa. He has four grandchildren, Mathew McDonald (Ashley) of Charleston, SC, Michael McDonald, Jonathan Pitkow and Erin Pitkow. Mr. McDonald is also survived by his two sisters, Ethel Graves of Milwaukee, WI., and Pauline Holbrook of Hornell, New York. He is preceded in death by a brother, James Eric McDonald of Columbus, Ohio. Arrangements are being made by Simcox McIlvaine Funeral Home, Lansdale, Pa. Viewing on Saturday, 1/31/15 from 10-11 A.M. with Mass following at St. Stanislaus Church in Lansdale. McGain, Ian A.* - Telford  
Ian A. McGain, 70, formerly of Huntingdon Valley, passed away unexpectedly in his Harleysville residence on January 22, 2015. He was the husband of Carol (Magee) Lauchmen since April 5, 2003, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Valerie Kathleen (Heiser) McGain, in February of 2000. Born March 13, 1944 in Wallasey, England, he was the son of the late William A. and Phyllis (Grove) McGain. He lived in the Isle of Mann until he and his family moved to the United States when he was eight years old. Mr. McGain was a graduate of Pennsylvania Military College/Widener University and served in the U. S. Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a purchasing agent for Sears, Clark's, and Geiger Company. Mr. McGain was a former elected commissioner for Upper Moreland Township for 12 years, and served on the township's Zoning Hearing Board. He served many years on the Lower Salford Township Sewer Authority and was currently chairman. He was also a committee chairperson for the Republican Party. Mr. McGain enjoyed politics, gardening, working with his hands and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Along with his wife, he is survived by children, David A. McGain and Christopher E. A. McGain, both of Philadelphia, Grace Fantaroni and her husband, Jeremy, and Eva Lauchmen, all of San Diego, CA, Emilie Lauchmen of Pennsburg, and his dear Carly Lauchmen at home. He is also survived by a brother, Roy McGain and his wife, Doris, of Coral Springs, FL; grandchildren, Carlos Lauchmen, and Isabella and William Fantaroni; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Ian A. McGain, in 1990. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, from 5-8PM at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Inc., 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford (Franconia Twp.) Graveside services will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery in Phoenixville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice. Muench, Valentine Kenneth* - Lansdale  
VALENTINE MUENCH Valentine Kenneth Muench a resident of Lansdale and formerly of Maple Glen passed away Thursday January 29, 2015 at The Solana Horsham. He was 81. Born in Maplewood, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Hildegard (Franks) Muench. Ken is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Secor) Muench and beloved sons Kenneth V. (Joanne), Paul C., and Gregory N. (Stacey). Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Kelly, Kyle, Heather, Aiden and Emma. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Gerard and Norbert. Ken was a graduate of Seton Hall University and a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Prudential Life Insurance as the Manager of Building Services retiring in 1988. In his spare time, Ken volunteered at St. Jude Church, was an avid gardner and a member of The Lighthouse Society. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA (Montgomery Twp.) where his viewing will begin at 10 AM.
