Zeiher, Roy Joseph* - Harleysville  
Roy Joseph Zeiher, age 90, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, March 25, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Ruth Zeiher with whom he shared over 61 years of marriage. Born May 26, 1925 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Roy L. and Alice (Smith) Zeiher. Roy had a passion for trains and model trains and attended the National Railway Historical Society conventions. He was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ since 1963, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He also was on the Souderton Borough Council, the planning commission and the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs serving as the Montgomery County Representative. Roy was a member of Shiloh-MacCalla Lodge #558 F&AM. Roy was active in Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts and as a troop leader. He also played drums in the band 4 plus 1. Roy enjoyed the outdoors and hiking the Appalachian Trail. He had his private pilot license and enjoyed traveling. His true passion was his family and he cherished the time they spent together. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children David A. Zeiher and his wife Dorothy A., Donna J. Kelley and her husband Bruce H.; grandchildren Melissa A. and Michael A. Zeiher, and his sister Carole Zeiher. Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 350 Wile Avenue, Souderton Pa, 18964, where the family will receive guests from 10 – 11 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roy’s name may be made to Zwingli United Church of Christ Building Fund at the address above.
