Andrew C. Anders

ANDREW ANDERS Andrew C. Anders, 88, of Skippack, passed away November 10, 2013. He and his wife, Jane (Murphy) Anders, observed their 54th wedding anniversary this year. Born March 15, 1925 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Dr. Andrew A. and Marie (Covert) Anders. He graduated from Northeast High School where he was commencement speaker, received his BA with honors in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, received his MBA from La Salle University, and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was employed for over 35 years by Leeds & Northrup and was later a lecturer and professor at LaSalle University, Penn State University, and Montgomery County Community College. Mr. Anders was a member of Central Schwenkfelder Church where he had served as moderator. He also served as secretary and on the board of trustees for the Perkiomen School, and was a member and fellow of the American Production & Inventory Control Society. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Andrew C. Anders, Jr., Catherine M. Agnew, William M. Anders, and Leslie J. Anders; two grandchildren, Mark and Alisha; and three nephews, James, William and Richard "Ted" Anders. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Jill Anders; and by a brother, James A. Anders. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11AM Friday, Nov. 15, at Central Schwenkfelder Church, 2111 Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale. Interment will be private in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary St., Pennsburg, PA 18073. Arrangements are by R. L.
