Charles Joseph Breckley(1929 - 2014)

CHARLES JOSEPH BRECKLEY Charles Joseph Breckley, 84, of Lansdale, formerly of Bensalem, passed away March 11, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Lansdale. Born June 18, 1929 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Anna (Kruszkowski) Breckley. Charles proudly served his country as a Corporal in the US Marine Corp., serving aboard the USS Leyte CV32 in the 7th fleet during WWII and the Korean War. He was later employed at the Fairless Hills Steel Mill until his retirement due to illness. Charles's memberships included US Steel #4889, AARP, US Naval Institute, USS Leyte CV32 Association, and the Marine Corp. Association. He is survived by a sister, Eleanor K. Breckley of Lansdale; his former wife and friend, Elaine G. Hudson of Bensalem; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by two sisters, Florence C. Bailey, and Mary Ann Strauss; and a brother, Stanley A. Breckley. Relatives and friends may greet the family 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Charles's memory to the Marine Corps Association Foundation, PO Box 1775, Quantico, VA 22134.
