Emily Jane Szczepanski

EMILY SZCZEPANSKI Emily Jane Szczepanski, 84, of Lansdale, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was the wife of the late Francis W. Szczepanski, who died April 29, 1979. Born December 30, 1927 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Annie (Kirkbright) Woodhead. Mrs. Szczepanski was employed with Prudential Insurance for over 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was an active member of Church of the Messiah, Lower Gwynedd, where she served as lector, was a member of the Altar Guild, and volunteered at Belfry Bargains Thrift Shop. Emily was also involved with Kensington High School Alumni Group and volunteered with the Lansdale Mastectomy Support Group. Most important to her, however, was her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Francis W. Szczepanski of Gibbstown, NJ, Karen A. Wert and her husband, Barry of Hatfield, and Keith W. Szczepanski and his wife, Melinda of Lansdale; seven grandchildren, Michael Szczepanski (Anne), Rebecca Szczepanski, Amy Wert, Eric Wert (Katie), Kimberly Dallinga (John),Sarah Szczepanski, and Corynne Szczepanski; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Madison, and Joshua. Relatives and friends may call between 6 and 8PM Wednesday, December 26 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second visitation will begin 10AM Thursday at Church of the Messiah, 1001 Dekalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd, PA 19002 followed by the Funeral Service at 11AM.
