Helene Estelle Clayton

HELENE CLAYTON Helene Estelle (Fox) Clayton, 86, passed away November 7, 2013 at her home in Brittany Pointe Estates, Lansdale. Helene was the beloved wife of Harry B. Clayton for nearly 62 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Helen was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mabel (French) Fox. She attended the Philadelphia Institute of Industrial Arts and worked for various companies over the years in mechanical detailing. Helene was most excited when she was cutting silhouettes, and was often seen at fairs and festivals with her scissors and black velvet paper. In addition to her loving husband, Helene is survived by two sons, Paul Clayton and his wife, Dianne, Scott Clayton and his wife, Donna; a daughter, Peg Romero and her husband, David; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Isabelle Weber. Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family from 7 to 8PM Monday, November 11 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the service at 8PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helene's name to the Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 and/or to endow an annual "Award for Portraiture" at the Greater Norristown Art League, 800 West Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19403.
