Joseph R. Campbell Sr.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL, SR. Joseph R. Campbell, Sr., 77, of Lansdale, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital. He had been in failing health. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Campbell was the son of the late Elmer and Regina Campbell. He has lived in Lansdale since 1964 and was formerly from Northeast Philadelphia. Mr. Campbell graduated from Resurrection Elementary School, Saint Joseph Prep and St. Joseph College. He worked for 30 years at Unisys in Blue Bell as a computer systems analyst, retiring in 1992. Mr. Campbell also taught computer sciences at St. Stanislaus and St. Rose of Lima Elementary schools. He was a member of the Unisys Retirees Group and enjoyed photography. Mr. Campbell was an active devoted member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and has been the President of the St. Stanislaus Senior Citizens for many years. He was also a long-time volunteer at the annual Summer Festival. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Gloria G. Stefanowicz Campbell; his son Joseph R. Campbell, Jr. of Lansdale and two granddaughters Ashley and Kacey Campbell and his sister Regina Blum. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his son Christopher V. Campbell in December, 2009. Relatives and friends are invite to attend his Funeral Mass Saturday, October 26th at 11AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, PA. 19446 where the family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45AM. Interment private at a late date in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joe's name to St. Stanislaus Church (address above) would be preferred.
