L. Paul Sinotte

L. PAUL SINOTTE L. Paul Sinotte, 86, a resident of North Wales for over 50 years passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013. Dr. Sinotte is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elaine (Villeneuve) Sinotte. Born June 12, 1927 in Haverhill, MA, he was a son of the late Ambroise and Rose (LaJeunesse) Sinotte. Dr. Sinotte was a graduate of Haverhill High School in 1944. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. While in college, he interrupted his studies to serve as a Pharmacist Mate with the U.S. Naval Medical Corps for 18 months. He was awarded a Purdue Research Foundation Fellowship, and received his M.S. degree and completed his doctorate work in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Purdue University in 1954. Dr. Sinotte worked for 34 years at Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD), retiring in 1988 as Senior Director of Pharmaceutical Quality Control. He is a past Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PMA). He also served as a member of the Pennsylvania Drug, Device and Cosmetic Board, the ASQC Quality Motivation Steering Committee, Board of Directors of North Penn Hospital (now called Abington Health, Lansdale Hospital), North Penn United Way, North Wales Planning Commission, and was a parishioner of Saint Rose of Lima Church in North Wales. Dr. Sinotte and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad but their favorite spot was spending time at their vacation home in Hampton Beach, NH, with their children and grandchildren. When home in North Wales, most weekday mornings he could be found exercising at La Crest/YMCA with his friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Raymond Sinotte, of Upper Gwynedd; Michael Sinotte and his wife, Christine, and their children Jennifer, Jessica and James, of Skippack; Peter Sinotte and his wife, Beth Ann, and their daughter, Veronica, of North Wales; Lorna Fitzgerald and her husband, Leo, and their daughter, Sydney, of Warrington; Claire Uebele and her husband Matthew, and their son, Nolan, of Havertown; and a sister, Ursula Couture and her husband, Maurice, of Salem NH. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Sinotte. Dr. Sinotte was a lot of things to many people. He was a husband, a father, and a manager but most of all, he was a friend. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and continuous smile. He will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, January 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at R.L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 3440 Skippack Pike @Cedars Rd., Skippack. A second viewing will be held on January 3, at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 428 S. Main St., North Wales, from 10 am to 10:45 am with his Funeral Mass starting at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
