LAMAR LINBERGER Lamar L. Linberger, 80, a lifelong resident of Lansdale, went to be with his Lord, February 22, 2013 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. (Detwiler) Linberger. The two would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this coming April. Born January 19, 1933 in Philadelphia, Lamar was a son of the late Edwin J. and Edna G. (Beck) Linberger. For 34 years, Mr. Linberger was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and after his retirement, Lamar went on to work for 22 years for I.T. Landes in Harleysville. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies. Lamar loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; he cherished spending time with his family and enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in all of their extracurricular activities. Above all else, Mr. Linberger will be remembered for his unwavering faith. He was a lifelong and dedicated member of Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale, and over the years, he served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and choir member. He will be greatly missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Dennis S. Linberger and his wife, Judith, of Telford, Richard K. Linberger and his wife, Sandra, of Hatfield, and Carla R. Moyer and her husband, Eric, of Harleysville; seven grandchildren, Nathan S. Linberger and his wife, Katie, and Travis J. Linberger and his wife, Kathleen, Matthew T. and Rachel J. Linberger, and Evan Z., Collin R., and Adam J. Moyer; and two beloved great-grandchildren, Breckin and Kevin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rev. Ray C. Linberger. An opportunity to greet the family will be held 5 to 7PM Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Grace Mennonite Church, 630 York Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where his funeral service will follow at 7:30 PM. Friends are invited to his graveside service 11AM Thursday, Feb. 28 at Salford Mennonite Church Cemetery.
