Linford P. Barndt

LINFORD BARNDT Linford P. Barndt, 80, of Salford Twp., passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at his residence. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Hauser) Barndt with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 20. Born on the family homestead on Barndt Rd,. Salford Twp., he was a son of the late E. Paul S. and Anna (Blank) Barndt. He was a lifelong farmer, working on and operating the family farm with his father and then with his brother, Carl. Mr. Barndt was a member of Little Zion Lutheran Church in Telford. He was a life member of the Tylersport Fire Company, serving more than 60 years, and a member of the Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Farm Bureaus. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Paul Barndt and his wife, Elaine, of Telford, a son, Bill Barndt and his wife, Beth, of Telford; three grandchildren, Daniel, Christian, and Molly; two step grandchildren, Patrick and Cody, and four sisters, Arlene Smith and her husband Lester of Souderton, Catherine Hangey of Sellersville, Helen Kratz and her husband Ellis of Norristown and Dorothy Evans of Sanatoga; a sister-in-law, Nancy Barndt of Sellersville; and a brother-in-law, Ernest Hauser of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by three brothers, E. Carl, Samuel, and Harvey Barndt, a sister, Martha Pizza, and a step-grandson, Jacob A. Jones. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 11AM in the Little Zion Lutheran Church, 267 Morwood Rd., Telford, PA 18969. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday, June 10 from 7 to 9PM at the church, and again Tuesday from 10 to 11AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Little Zion Lutheran Church at the above address or to the Tylersport Fire Company, P O Box 221, Tylersport, PA 18971, or to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960.
