Margaret Leach Obituary

MARGARET LEACH Margaret E. "Marge" (Nellett) Leach, 86, a long-time Lansdale resident, passed away June 19, 2012 at Gwynedd Square Center. She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Leach with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage last October. Born April 28, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Theron Charles and Barbara Catherine (Hylamar) Nellett. Marge was a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia. She later met her husband at Willow Grove Park, formerly an amusement park. Along with her husband, Marge was a member of First Baptist Church of Lansdale for over 50 years. She worked for S.K.F. Ball Bearing Company (formerly Nice Ball Bearing), retiring in 1987. Upon her retirement, Marge enjoyed travelling with her husband and even hiked the Grand Canyon at age 74. Her hobbies included playing the piano, card games, especially pinochle and bridge, golfing, and bowling, and was a member of the Flower League at the former Lans-Bowl. She enjoyed crocheting and making jellies and jams. Her confections and creations will be greatly missed by all who enjoyed them. Marge enjoyed giving back to her community and was a volunteer with the Senior Environment Corps of the PEAK Center in Lansdale. She will be celebrated for her many accomplishments, but most of all will be remembered for being a nurturing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Barbara Brasch and her husband, Jim, of Harleysville, Robert T. Leach and his wife, Virginia, of Green Lane, Diane Morton and her husband, Jim, of Cape May, NJ, and Daniel and his wife, Janet, of Hatfield; her grandsons, David, Jamie, and Richard Messa, Matthew Brasch, and Robert and Philip Leach and their families; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Floyd Nellett; and her sister, Helen Hiller. She will also be greatly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, June Messa and her brother, Edward Nellett. The Funeral Service will be held at 10AM Saturday, June 23 at the First Baptist Church of Lansdale, 700 N. Broad St., Lansdale, PA 19446 where friends and relatives may visit with the family after 9AM. Interment will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marge's name to the First Baptist Church of Lansdale, address above, or to Gwynedd Square Nursing Center, 773 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
