Robert Kinzer Davis Jr.

ROBERT DAVIS, JR. Robert Kinzer Davis, Jr., 87, of Lansdale and formerly of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away January 24, 2013 at Dock Terrace, Towamencin Township. Born December 27, 1925 in Lansdale, Robert was a son of the late Erma (Springer) and Robert Kinzer Davis, Sr. Mr. Davis graduated from the former Lansdale High School, Class of 1943. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and went on to attend Penn State University, where he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity. In 1950, he graduated from Penn State with a degree in electrical engineering and was later certified as a Professional Engineer. While living in Florida, Mr. Davis worked with NASA on the Space Programs at Cape Canaveral. About five years ago, he returned to his hometown of Lansdale. Mr. Davis formerly attended St. John's UCC in Lansdale. He was a fan of country music.and loved working on his 1971 Maverick and kept it running and in good condition for all these years. Above all else, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially his 1943 classmates. Mr. Davis is survived by his daughters, Lynn Susan (Davis) Gubin and her husband, Roger, of Merritt Island, FL, and Janet Lee (Davis) Ledesma and her husband, Ruben, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two grandsons, Wesley Ledesma and Tommy Gubin; two sisters, Barbara (Davis) Cuthbert Burnett and her husband, Bill, of Warrington, and Marie (Davis) Boulton of Lansdale; and five nieces and nephews, Randy Cuthbert, Alison Bronico and her husband, Jim, Kelly Jameson and her husband, Jerry, David Boulton and his wife, Carolyn, and Jim Boulton and his wife, Laura. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Scott Davis and a brother-in-law, Arthur Boulton. Robert was also preceded in death by his former wife, Meta (Scott) Davis. His funeral service will be held 10AM Monday, Jan. 28, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, where friends may greet the family after 9AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster.
