BERYL JEAN KING Beryl Jean King, 80, a lifelong resident of North Wales, passed away peacefully September 29, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born May 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Harold and Violet Stone. She was the wife of the late Edgar A King with whom she shared 41 years of marriage before his passing in 2004. A graduate of Kutztown University, Mrs. King was a devoted elementary school teacher for many years. She began her career at the Chestnut Street Elementary School, Souderton in 1959 and was a teacher at Knapp School in the North Penn School District for more than 35 years. She had a great love of children and always delighted in making her second grade classroom a happy place where her "kids" could learn and grow. She loved all holidays and took great care to share that with her students. Mrs. King was an animal lover with a special fondness for cats. She was devoted to her dear pets, Smokey, Miss Priss, Tucker, Fats, Ziggy, Boo, WuzzaWuzza, and Bobby. She also had a keen interest in current events and politics and followed the news closely. Mrs. King is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Fenstermacher and her fianc, Tony Karpovich; her son, Ronald King; and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Stone and his wife, Mary, and a nephew. Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Stone. She will be sadly missed and will be remembered for her sense of humor and her kindness towards her family, friends and associates. Friends may call at the William R. May Funeral Home, Main and Elm Streets in North Wales between 6 and 8PM Wednesday, Oct. 2. Interment will be private.
