C. DUANE SNYDER On November 18, 2012, C. Duane Snyder reunited with his family and friends in heaven. C.Duane Snyder was married August 7, 1948 to Louise (Camburn) Snyder in the Ambler Presbyterian Church. They were married for 64 years. Born January 1, 1926, son of Charles B. Snyder and Anna (McDowell) Snyder, he attended Worcester School and graduated from Norristown High School, June 6, 1944 (D-Day). He immediately went into the service (Army) and had basic training at Camp Blanding, Florida. Arriving in Europe, he took part in Battle of the Bulge, suffered hypothermia and was in a hospital in Namur, close to Brussels, Belgium. After release, he was sent to the front, joined the 3rd Infantry Division under General Patton, then crossed the Rhine River where they met the Russians at the Elba River. He was Active Realtor for 57 years, first as a Manager of the Kenneth Kratz Realty Co., for 31 years, then he opened a business with his son, Gerald W. Snyder & Associates Co., for 26 years. He has served the community in many ways, including Past President of the North Penn Board of Realtors, 40 year member and Past President of the North Penn Rotary Club, 20 years on the Upper Gwynedd Planning Commission, the Masonic Lodge, Grand Marshall Memorial Day Parade, the Board at the PEAK Center. In 1993 he received Chamber of Commerce award in recognition of furthering the ideals of the Chamber, was on Board of Real Estate Legislations Committees in Harrisburg and Washington, in 1977 was named in the Marquis Publication "Who's Who" in the East for excellence in vocational endeavors. His passion was to serve the community in any way he could. Duane Snyder was totally committed to family, community service and his golf game. Besides his wife, Mr. Snyder is survived by three children, Jeffrey K. Snyder (Denise), Debbie Cramer (Harry), Gerald W. Snyder (Mary Ellen) and former daughter-in-law Sandy Beck (Henry); seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Sean Snyder, Drew B. Snyder, Mark Cramer (Kelly), Melissa Vezzozi (Dan), Michelle Lee Snyder, Jacquelyn Cowley (James) and C. James Snyder; five great-grandchildren, Adelaide L. Vezzozi, Serena R. Vezzozi, Joseph Mako Vezzozi, Brayden Cramer and Paige Cramer. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn R. Snyder (Danae). Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Snyder; brother Lee; and brother-in-law, James S. Camburn. There will be a Service at Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, 837 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA 19446 (215-699-9159) Saturday, November 24 at 11AM. The family will receive relatives and friends from 8:30AM until 11AM. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting, PA(610-828-1417). In lieu of flowers, donations to either Gwynedd Square Presbyterian Church, address above or to Community Housing, 311 N. Broad St., Lansdale, PA 19446 would be appreciated.
