CLYDE MAGAS Clyde Magas, 45, of Lansdale, passed away unexpectedly August 18, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Tabby (Patterson) Magas with whom he shared 14 years of marriage. Born February 2, 1968 in Allentown, he was a son of Michael and Tina C. (Carlson) Magas. Clyde graduated from Truman High School with the class of 1985 and went on to attend Penn State University where he was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. He spent his career working as a civilian employee with the United States Navy. Clyde was a talented musician. He played tenor saxophone and was teaching himself piano at the time of his death. During his teens, he marched with the Mummers as a member of the Harrogate String Band and more recently, he played with the Dixieland Band and Wind Ensemble at St. John's United Church of Christ in Lansdale, where he was a member. Clyde was passionate about teaching math and science to children and adults alike, devoting much of his free time to this activity. He leaves behind many family and friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his wife and parents, Clyde is survived by his sister, Karen Donohoe and her husband, Paul, of Hartsville; his brothers, Kenneth Magas and his significant other, Lucille, of Fairless Hills, and Douglas Magas and his wife, Stacie, of Walterboro, SC. The memorial service will be held 3 PM, Sunday, Aug. 25, in St. John's United Church of Christ, 500 W. Main St., Lansdale, where there will be an opportunity to greet the family from 2 to 3PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a school project of your choice at Donors Choose www.DonorsChoose.org.
