Allen S. Detweiler Obituary
ALLEN DETWEILER Allen S. Detweiler, 87, of Sellersville and formerly of Morwood, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Rockhill Mennonite Community. He was the loving husband of Jean (Detwiler) Detweiler for 66 years. Allen was born in Bedminster Twp., to the late Harvey and Anna (Stover) Detweiler. He worked as a truck driver for Guy Heavener, Inc. and then worked as a maintenance man for Hatfield Quality Meats. Allen enjoyed volunteering his time at the Rockhill Mennonite Community. He liked hunting, fishing, gardening, camping and jigsaw puzzles. Allen enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. He was a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church. In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by a son, Allen L. Detweiler and wife, Phyllis, of Harleysville; a daughter, Joanne McCurdy and husband, Robert, of North Wales; a grandson, Troy Detweiler and wife, Beth, of Silverdale; two granddaughters, Melanie Clemmer of Dallas, TX and Angela Clemmer of Macungie; two great-granddaughters, Alicia and Alexis Detweiler, both of Silverdale; two sisters, Blanche Bechtel of Harleysville and Bertha Rush and husband, Nelson, of Sellersville; and two brothers, Robert Detweiler of Pleasant Gap and Donald Detweiler and wife, Jean, of Manheim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Styer and a brother, Ernest Detweiler. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 25, at 7PM at Rockhill Mennonite Community Chapel, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, where friends may meet with the family from 5:30 to 7PM.
