Bert Daikeler was not only a true gentleman, he was the best "boss" and friend I ever worked for in the State Legislature. He and Dorrie remained my friends over the years and, although I am deeply saddened by his passing, I am honored to have known him and had him as a friend in my life. I will always remember his sense of humor and his appreciation for life. God bless you, Bert. God bless Dorrie and all the family.

Dear Dorrie and Ray and the Daikeler family - Bert touched the hearts of so many of us over the years, and memories of him are very warm and pleasant for me. I heard this poem years ago, and it seems very appropriate now.
The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand,
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land,
The music stops, and yet it echoes on in sweet refrains,
For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains.
What a blessing to have known Bert and to have so many special memories. May the music and the warmth linger on and on - -

Wherever this journey takes you, Bert, I trust you'll be leaving smiles in your wake, as always.

I first met Bert the day we both were initiated into the Now Time group. In those days, you had an initiation and Ralph handed out Genesis medals for those who accomplished whatever you were to do. Bert and I had a brief conversation about our ages -- me being the oldest member at that time but he assured me that he was. He was right but only by a month. Guess I am the oldest now. Bert was a sweet guy -- always very quiet and never showing his feelings -- but you knew he loved Now Time and felt his concern for the group.
