CALLAHAN DERSTINE Callahan "Calli" Mae Derstine, 15, of Harleysville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her residence after a courageous battle with Spine and Brain Cancer. She was born in Lansdale, to Michael S. and Lucy A. (Schiedel) Derstine. Calli loved reading, writing poetry and worshiping the Lord by playing the piano and handbells. She loved animals especially horses, her dogs, Butchy, Scotty and Roscoe and her cat, Shaya. Calli loved traveling and history, studying other cultures and eating ethnic foods. She adored canoeing, hiking, biking, swimming and being at the ocean. Calli enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her courageous brother, Aidan M. Derstine of Harleysville; a paternal great-grandmother, June H. Bishop of Perkasie; a maternal great-grandmother, Kitty R. Sauers of LansdaleA; a maternal grandmother, Sheila D. Schiedel of Lansdale; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mark D. and Linda B. Derstine and her maternal grandfather, Matthew D. Schiedel. Viewings will be held Monday, July 9 at Family Worship Center from 6PM to 8PM and Tuesday, July 10 at Family Worship Center from 9AM to 11AM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10 at 11AM at Family Worship Center, 1000 Troxel Road, Lansdale. Burial will take place at Blooming Glen Mennonite Cemetery.
