Carol Sherry Donnelly Obituary
CAROL DONNELLY Carol Sherry Donnelly, of Lansdale, passed away Thursday September 12, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Martin W. Donnelly for 39 years. Born September 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Dorothy Sherry of Lansdale. Carol attended North Penn High School and graduated with the class of 1961. She retired from the Security Department after 30 years employment at Merck. Carol enjoyed the outdoors. She was an award winning downhill skier, accomplished sport fisher, and marksman. She golfed, sailed, snorkeled and adventured. Some of her favorite places to visit were the U.S Virgin Islands and Key West for sunshine and ocean sports, or Stowe, VT and Park City, UT for skiing. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, baking, reading, and vacationing. "Grammie" especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, reading and playing on the beach. In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her son, Christopher Donnelly, and his wife Caryn of Blue Bell; two grandsons, Evan and Ryan; sister, Nancy Sherry, and her husband Chuck Haney of Souderton; brother, Lee Sherry, and his partner Curt Beville of Charlotte, NC; niece, Donna Rehak and her husband John Rehak of Green Lane; niece, Nicole Taylor, and her husband Michael Taylor and their children. Carol's funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, September 17 at the Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home located at 701 Derstine Ave, Lansdale. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 6PM until 8PM Monday, September 16 and from 10AM until the time of service Tuesday morning. Interment will be at Whitemarsh Memorial Park located at 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
