Cleta S. Freed Obituary
CLETA FREED Cleta S. (Moyer) Freed, 76, of Harleysville, entered into rest Saturday, August 3, 2013 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Howard D. Freed for 57 years. Cleta was born in Harleysville to the late Willis B. and Sadie (Stover) Moyer. She graduated from Souderton High School, class of 1954. Cleta was employed as a Cafeteria Cashier for Hatfield Quality Meats for 20 years, until retiring in 1996. She was a devoted wife and mother. Cleta loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She volunteered at the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes and Keystone Opportunity Center. Cleta was a member of Salford Mennonite Church where she served as a past president of the Womens Fellowship (WMSC), a former assistant librarian and most recently organized funeral luncheons. She enjoyed braiding rugs, reading, walking and flower gardening. In addition to her husband, Cleta is survived by two sons, Ronald Freed and wife, Debbie of Souderton, Daniel Freed and wife, Donna of Souderton; a daughter, Kathy Martin and husband, Don of Lansdale; nine grandchildren, Andrew, Amy, Brett, Adam, Lance, Scott, Clinton, Ryan and Krista; seven great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Sadie, Greg, Luke, Hannah, Eli and Jeff; and a brother, Merrill Moyer and wife, Nancy of Souderton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Moyer. A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 6 at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groff's Mill Road, Harleysville, PA 19438 from 6PM to 8PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 7 at 11AM at Salford Mennonite Church where friends may view and meet with the family from 10AM to 11AM. Burial will take place at Salford Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salford Mennonite Church at the above address or Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive, Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
