David W. Townsend Obituary
DAVID TOWNSEND David W. Townsend, 74, formerly of Worcester and North Wales, passed away January 28, 2012 at LifeQuest in Quakertown. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Kitchenman) Townsend. Born June 16, 1937 in Norristown, he was a son of the late Clinton and Sara (Potter) Townsend. Mr. Townsend was a graduate of North Penn High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a salesman for Rahns Concrete and had formerly been a driver for U. P. S. His favorite pastimes were bowling, golfing, and coaching roller speed skating. Surviving are four children, Chief Petty Officer John Townsend and his wife, Heather, of Doylestown, Tim Townsend and his wife, Amy, of Quakertown, Kelly (DiBonaventure) of Plymouth Meeting, and Brett Townsend of Oakland Park, FL; three grandchildren, Josh, Sarah, and Owen; and a sister, Donna Stranick of Manifee, CA. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Townsend; and two brothers, Jack and Carl Townsend. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11AM Friday, Feb. 3, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack, where family will receive friends beginning at 9AM.
