E. Joan McVaugh Obituary
E. JOAN McVAUGH E. Joan McVaugh, formerly of Dublin and Horsham, PA, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, in the Souderton Mennonite Home, Souderton, PA. She was 81. She was the wife of the late Robert W. McVaugh who died in 1994. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Rose (McGillon) McKee. She was a 1950 graduate of Upper Moreland High School, Upper Moreland Twp., PA. A homemaker, Mrs. McVaugh also worked as a bookkeeper in the family business, Laboratory Testing, Inc., Hatfield, PA, where she and her husband were first generation owners. Additionally, she and her husband owned and operated the former McVaugh's Family Restaurant, Dublin, PA, from 1987 to 1994. Mrs. McVaugh was a former member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA, as well as St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, PA. An avid Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan, she especially enjoyed attending her sons' football games in earlier years. Most of all, she had a special love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her LTI family. She is survived by a daughter, Joan A. McVaugh, of Quakertown, PA; three sons, Robert W. McVaugh and his wife Christine, of Bedminster, PA, Michael J. McVaugh and his wife Luann, of Hilltown, PA, and Thomas P. McVaugh and his companion Valerie Jock Brooks, of Sodus Bay, NY; 13 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a godson, Christopher Hiller, of Hilltown; and a brother, James McKee and his wife Anna May, of Horsham, PA. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Route 152 & Broad Street, Hilltown, where family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:15 AM at the Church. Interment will be held privately in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the of SE Penna., 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
