EDWARD BRUNER Edward R. Bruner, "Ted", 72, of Montgomery Township, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, May 11, 2013, with the loving care of his daughters, the staff of Artman Lutheran Home and Life Choice Hospice. The husband of Patricia A. (Nagurny), they were a week away from celebrating 50 year years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by daughters, Lynn A. Bruner, Lock Haven and Susan L. Biedermann (Jonathan P.), Doylestown; and four wonderful grandchildren, Annie, Michael, Brian, and Theodore "Teddy". He is also survived by his sister, Doris Hansen, cherished nieces and nephews and their families. Born in Doylestown, Ted was the son of the late Hiram F. and Marian E. (Ewing) Bruner. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lansdale. He graduated from Central Bucks High School, 1958, Albright College, 1962; Stonier School of Banking in 1974 and the Fuqua School of Business Executive Program (Duke), 1987 after serving 3 years as an officer (O.C.S.) in the United States Navy. He spent 22 years in banking in Philadelphia rising to the head of Commercial Loan Division and head of Mortgage Lending Division (Central Penn National Bank, Meridian). He retired after 10 years at Spring Ridge Center near Reading as President and CEO of Core States Leasing, INC. He served on Trinity Church Council for six years, on the boards of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, Mann Music Center, and was currently serving on the boards of Artman Lutheran Home and Liberty Lutheran Services. Ted loved his "golf buddies", Montgomery Township golf league, sailing on Lake Nockamixon, bird watching, and 13 years of "daycare: with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by family and his many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Ted's memorial service 11AM Tuesday, May 21, at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, where the family will receive friends after 9:30AM until the time of service. Because of chemical sensitivity issues, strong scents such as perfumes should be avoided.
