Obituary Condolences

ERNEST CLEMMER Ernest C. Clemmer, 91, a former long-time resident of Telford, went to be with his Lord February 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, E. Naomi (Rosenberger) Clemmer, who died in 2008. He had recently moved to Souderton Mennonite Homes. Born April 10, 1920 in Souderton, Ernest was a son of the late Willis and Laura (Cassel) Clemmer. Mr. Clemmer dedicated his life to prayer and service to his Lord. He and his wife were founding members of BranchCreek Community Church, and working with the church was his passion. For many years, he taught Sunday School, Bible Studies, and was involved with Promise Keepers Men's Ministries. He enjoyed traveling the world on mission trips to Columbia, Mexico, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and especially Haiti. He was dedicated to spreading the Word of God, and he and his wife participated in smuggling Bibles into China. For many years, Mr. Clemmer owned and operated an egg and poultry business. He enjoyed working on his farm and gardening. Ernest is survived by six children, D. Charles "Nick" Clemmer, married to Jane, of Venice, FL, James S., married to Diane S., A. Bruce, married to Wendy L., E. Timothy, married to Pamala, and Mary J. Tidey, married to Stephen, all of Telford, and Sally L. Kolb, married to LeRoy A., of Spring City; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Connie, his brother, Roy, and his sister, Marion. Friends may greet the family Tuesday, February 21, from 9:30 to 11AM at Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton and again from 5 to7PM at BranchCreek Community Church, 100 Main St., Harleysville, PA 19438, where a service to celebrate his life will be held at 7PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernest's memory to BranchCreek Community Church (designated Haiti Missions Fund) at the above address. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
