GEORGE BANCROFT George D. Bancroft, 59, of Eagleville, passed away at his home Sunday, December 16, 2012. George was the soul mate of Barbara, the best father in the world to Diane, George and Stephen, and an awesome Grandpop to Stephen, Jr. and Alyssa. George was born October 1, 1953 in Philadelphia, to Walter E. and Marie (Kleinschmidt) Bancroft. He married Barbara (Bochey) in 1975. He was a graduate of North Penn High School and Penn State University. He was employed as a Police Officer in Lower Merion Township until his retirement in 2003. Most recently, George was employed by the North Penn School District as a Security Officer. George will be remembered by all as a kind, honest man who always took time to help others. George is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Diane of Lansdale; two sons, George, Jr., and his wife Stacey, of Eagleville and Stephen of Eagleville; and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Walter of Conshohocken; sister, Regina Ingrassia, of Quakertown; brother, Ed, of North Wales and brother Ron, wife Katie, of North Wales. He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents and his brother, Thomas. A visitation will take place Friday Dec. 21, from 9AM to 10:50AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM at Visitation BVM Church. 196 North Trooper Rd. Norristown. Interment will take place at a later time. Kindness, honesty and a great sense of humor were George's defining characteristics. Please honor him by performing some act of kindness; donating time or making a donation to a soup kitchen, a volunteer organization, or maybe helping an elderly neighbor.
