GEORGIEANNA SCOWDEN Georgieanna Dankulich Scowden, 62, of Hatfield, died peacefully in her sleep January 25, 2012 at her residence. Born April 26, 1949 in Pittston, Georgieanna was the second daughter of Catherine Ann Dankulich, of Hatfield, and the late George Dankulich. While she was still a baby, she and her family moved to Hatfield where she was a member of Lansdale Catholic High School's graduating class of 1967. Shortly after graduating from high school, Georgianna joined the United States Navy where she proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman in California. Georgieanna had many hobbies. She enjoyed reading, volunteering her time, collecting antiques, baking, and most importantly, spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her mother, Georgieanna is survived by a devoted family that includes two sons, Spencer Scowden, who resides in Hatfield with his wife, Jaime Scowden and their son, Jaxon Reilly Scowden and son, Shannon Scowden, who also resides in Hatfield with his family including newborn baby, Mason Vincent Scowden. Also surviving are her siblings, MaryBeth, wife of David Williams of Hatfield, George P. Dankulich, husband of Cheryl, of Charlotte Hall, MD, Alison, wife of Michael McMurtrie of Wayne, and Catherine Ann, wife of John Samacicia of Dix Hills, NY. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly called her GiGi. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family and pay their respects between 2 and 4PM Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second greeting will begin 10AM Monday at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment will be at a later date.
