Obituary Condolences

GERALDINE SCHOPPE Geraldine "Gerrie" Schoppe, 78, of Lansdale, joined her family and friends in heaven Thursday, February 2, 2012. Born March 27, 1933 in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Frank T. and Naomi T. (Pfanner) Slepetz. Gerrie attended Ambler High School and was employed for many years with Safeguard, retiring in the mid-1980s. After retiring, she worked at a number of shops in Montgomery Mall. Her favorite pastimes included roller skating, dancing, and going to the mountains in her younger years. Gerrie also enjoyed spending time at the shore, shopping, and hosting holiday parties for her family and friends. She is survived by her loving companion, Joseph Ruffo of Lansdale; five nieces, Lee E. Fink and husband, Jack, of Lansdale, Robin Zaremski Thompson and husband, Mark, of Reading, Darlene Kazes and husband, Steve, of Haverhill, MA, Debbie LeMarbre and husband, Richard, of Seminole, FL, and Roni Davy and husband, Dean, of Clearwater, FL; a brother, Thomas Slepetz and wife, Emy, of St. Petersburg, FL; and her dear friend, Valerie Rice and husband, Chris, of Lansdale. She was "Cha-Cha" to Autumn Fink, Noah Fink, Anna Thompson, Jennifer Rice, Michael Rice, Jamie Rice, and Adam Doyle, all of Pennsylvania; and she has eight great-nieces and nephews in Massachusetts and Florida, Bryan Kazes, Madison Kazes, Jeremy Aiken, Elijah Griffen, Maddie LeMarbre, Alec Curtis, Dakota Davy, and Dawson Davy. She was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Zaremski; her brother-in-law, Hank Zaremski; and former husband, Charles E. Schoppe. The Funeral Service will be held 1PM Saturday, Feb.11, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. Relatives and friends may call after 12PM. Interment will be private in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
