GRACEROSE BLUMBERG GraceRose Blumberg, 72, of New Hope, passed away June 24, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Leonard U. Blumberg, Ph.D. Born in Hackensack, NJ, GraceRose was a daughter of the late Frederic G. and Grace E. (Pepin) Hummers, Jr. Mrs. Blumberg was a devout Quaker and was a member of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. For many years she worked as the Administrator of the Home and Care Committee of Abington Quarterly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. She served on many committees of Abington Quarterly Meeting and Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and her work reflected her kind and gentle nature. GraceRose loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, and helping others. In addition to her husband, GraceRose is survived by two daughters, Katherine L. Carson of New Hope and Elisa R. VanHorn (David) of Horsham; her spouse's four children, Eric S. Blumberg (Laura) of Ferndale, MI, Judith B. Fox (David G. Grossman) of Vienna, VA, Martha L. Blumberg of Morrisville and James W. Blumberg (Laura) of Livonia, MI; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Lee Jorgenson (Alfred) of Brunswick, ME; and one nephew and one niece. A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, June 30, at Gwynedd Monthly Meeting, located on the corner of Route 202 and Sumneytown Pike, between North Wales and Spring House. Interment will be private.
