Obituary Condolences

JAMES HENDRICKS James G. Hendricks, "Jim", 84, of Harleysville, formerly of Vernfield, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Peter Becker Community. He was the loving husband of the late Irene (Landis) Hendricks for 48 years. Jim was born in Morwood, to the late Clarence S. and Martha (Gross) Hendricks. He was raised on the family farm in Morwood. Jim was employed as a truck driver for Heavener, Inc. for 42 years, until retiring in 1989. He then worked part-time as a parts runner for Bergey's Truck Garage in Franconia, until 1997. Jim was a member of Transport for Christ. He enjoyed cars, playing his guitar, Bluegrass music and riding motorcycles. Jim wrote many of the songs that he sang at retirement homes and Transport for Christ. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Church. Jim is survived by a sister, Ruth G. Moyer, of Souderton; and two sisters-in-law, Nedra M. Hendricks of Boyertown and Shirley D. Hendricks of Telford. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David G. Hendricks and Titus G. Hendricks and a brother-in-law, Raymond M. Moyer. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 16, at 2PM at Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave, Harleysville, where friends may view and meet with the family from 1 to 2PM.
