JEAN SCHRAUGER Jean Schrauger, 85, of Souderton, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 in LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Twp., with her children by her side. She was the wife of the late M. Ray Schrauger who died in 1977. Born in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Blanche (Trauger) Boorse. She was employed at the former M & S Food Vending in Souderton for five years. In her earlier years, she worked at the former Dengler's Bakery in Souderton, and then at the former Montgomery Golf Course where she was a chef and a bartender. Mrs. Schrauger was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Souderton where she sang in the church choir. She also served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. In her free time she loved playing card games, especially pinochle, and being with her pets, especially her dog Kyle. She is survived by five sons, Steven R. Schrauger and his wife Laurie of Whitehall, Stewart C. Schrauger and his wife Debby of Prescott, AZ, Sterling J. Schrauger and his wife Laureen of Green Lane, Stacey G. Schrauger and his wife Anne of Reading and Jeffrey P. Schrauger and his wife Adrith of West Columbia, SC; a daughter, Julie D. Freed and her husband Craig of Telford; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Lorraine Moyer of Telford. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, December 27 at 11AM in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 69 W. Broad St., Souderton, PA 18964. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11AM prior to the service. Interment is private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Bucks County SPCA, Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931 or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church at the above address.
