JILL CARDELL Jill N. Cardell, 58, of Telford, passed away December 26, 2012 at her home. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Edward R. Cardell. Born September 8, 1954 in Allentown, Jill was a daughter of Alberta D. (Steltz) Burrell of Lake Havasu City, AZ and the late Edward F. Burrell, who died in 2006. Mrs. Cardell was a graduate of North Penn High School, Class of 1972 and also attended North Montco Area Vocational Technical School for commercial art. She graduated with honors from Bucks County Community College with a degree in Historical Preservation. Jill will be remembered for her creative spirit. Over the years, she worked as an interior designer specializing in Christmas dcor and as a florist. A longtime member of the Philadelphia Folk Song Society, Jill worked to preserve folk music and was on the Recording and Archives Committee. She was also a cofounder of the West Rockhill Historical Society where she worked tirelessly to save historical structures. Above all else, Jill cherished spending time on her farm, especially in her organic garden. She will be greatly missed by her family and community. In addition to her husband, Jill is survived by three children, Melanie S. Cardell of Quakertown, Tyler E. Cardell and his fiance, Jennifer Leighton, of Perkasie and Wesley D. Cardell of Decatur, GA; three siblings, James E. Burrell of Sebring, FL, Susan L. Zasadil and her husband, Thomas, of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Lori A. Trevorah of Hatfield; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Jill's life will be held 11 AM, Saturday, Jan. 5, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. Friends may greet the family after 9AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jill's name to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960 or to the Indian Valley Public Library, 100 East Church Road, Telford, PA 18969.
